OKLAHOMA CITY -- May 13, 2018 – Fast Prize Rumor posted the top 400-yard time over eight qualifying trials for the $373,790 Heritage Place Derby on Mothers’ Day at Remington Park. The gray 3-year-old pulled clear to win his heat by 1-1/4 lengths.

Owned by Jose Guzman of Dallas and trained by Amanda Tongay, Fast Prize Rumor was ridden by James Flores. The trial win was the first score of 2018 for Fast Prize Rumor, and his third career win, as he crossed the finish line in :19.746 over a fast track into a 17mph headwind. All of the qualifiers faced a southerly headwind between 16-17mph.

Fast Prize Rumor is a gelding by Hez Our Secret from the Corona Cartel mare Coronas Fast Prize. He was bred in Texas by Weetona Stanley of Madill, Okla.

The connections of Fast Prize Rumor also sent the second-fastest qualifier to the derby as PYC Fun N Fancy posted a time of :19.869 in trial number eight.

The Remington Park season continues May 17-20 with the first race at 6pm on Thursday and Friday, May 17 & 18. The action is underway at Noon on Saturday, May 19 as the Preakness Stakes simulcast from Pimlico in Baltimore falls after the Remington Park races conclude. Sunday racing on May 20 starts at 1:30pm.
