OKLAHOMA CITY June 3, 2017Time For Wine wrapped her perfect Remington Park season on Saturday night, posting her third straight win, this time in the Grade 2, $100,000 Junos Request Stakes.

Owned by Pete Scarmardo of Caldwell, Texas and trained by John Weghorst, Time For Win was ridden to her Junos Request Stakes win by James Flores. The talented 5-year-old mare did not have the perfect start but was able to get away from the gates without incident, setting up her late rally to score by a half-length while covering 400 yards in 19.58 seconds over a fast track.

Miss Feet Down first was away with a sharp start and held the lead for the early part of the Junos Request before the winner was able to run her down and then go on to win by a half-length. Bye Bye Birdy was third after battling for the front at the midway point, finishing a head behind the runner-up. 

The betting favorite at 6-5 odds, Time For Wine paid $4.60 to win, $3 to place and $2.40 to show. Miss Feet Down First paid $4.20 to place and $3.20 to show. Bye Bye Birdy paid $5.80 to show.

Bred in California by Vessels Stallion Farm, Time For Wine is a daughter of Mr Jess Perry from the First Down Dash mare Fine Wines. In winning her third straight of the Remington Park season, Time For Wine added the Junos Request to her last stakes score in the Merial Remington Park Distaff Challenge on May 14. She has now won seven of her 20 career starts and made $59,730 in the Junos Request. Time For Wine has now earned $185,953 in her career.

The Junos Request is named after one of the best racing mares to ever compete at Remington Park. A multiple champion in her career, Junos Request won the 1992 Remington Park Championship, one of many local stakes triumphs.

Live horse racing is now on hiatus at Remington Park until the 2017 Thoroughbred Season which runs Aug. 25 thru Dec. 17.
